Through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed last May 5 between the Municipality of Mariveles and the Provincial Government of Bataan thru the Mariveles District Hospital, the MDH is now authorized to administer anti-rabies vaccines for the people of Mariveles.
The MOA states that the Municipal Government of Mariveles agrees to share and replenish their anti-rabies vaccines to the MDH, whereas the latter will provide animal bite treatment services to qualified patients as its ancillary services beyond official working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Currently, the Mariveles Rural Health Units I and II administer vaccines during regular work hours only, resulting to a delay in immediate medical care as patients need to travel to BGHMC in Balanga City to get vaccinated.
Schedule of implementation shall be announced by the Mariveles LGU and PGB.
Present during the signing were Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Mariveles Mayor AJ Concepcion, MDH Chief Dr. Hector Santos, Mariveles Councilor Ivan Ricafrente, and Dr. Gerald Sebastian.
